Procedure

Image guided laser ablation performed using the TRANBERG®|Thermal Therapy System is a focal therapy aimed at reducing morbidity and improving clinical outcome within interventional oncology and urology.

This localized ablation procedure is being offered to patients that cannot tolerate the complications typically associated with surgery and radiation or do not accept a wait-and-see strategy.

The focal laser ablation procedure is performed using one or more disposable flexible laser applicators inserted percutaneously, under CT, US or MR image guidance, into a targeted soft tissue, such as tumor formations or hyperplasia, in organs such as the prostate.

When using MRI-guidance, the procedure can be performed with high precision and be supported by real time MR-thermography data extracted from MR-scanners equipped with this feature.
